A hands-on workshop on using web 2.0 tools in classroom blended instruction.
Abstract:This hands-on workshop will increase knowledge of how to incorporate web 2.0 tools into blended classroom instruction to develop digital literacy skills in students. Teachers will participate in an online course, engaging in web 2.0-based activities that demonstrate how to build student-centered web activities for students. Workshop participants will explore an array of technology and Internet-based tools such as blogs, wikis, storyboards and virtual field trips while building a lesson plan for their classroom students using those tools. Student work from prior sessions will be demonstrated, and teachers will discuss how to use these tools to change the student-teacher relationship as a way to maximize student achievement and model effective blended teaching.
Objectives:
